THE Live Register dropped again in December continuing the recent trend, new figures from the Central Statistics Office show.
The register decreased by 3,300 in December bringing the standardised unemployment rate to 12.4pc, down from 12.5pc in November.
According to the most recent Quarterly National Household Survey, the rate was 12.8pc in the third quarter of 2013.
The annual average standard rate for 2013 was 13.2pc down from 14.7pc in 2012.
In unadjusted terms there were 395,411 people signing on the Live Register in December 2013. This represents an annual decrease of 28,322 or 6.7pc.
