Former Ryanair executive Peter Bellew has been appointed the new chief executive of Malaysia Airlines.
He was previously the chief operating officer, and takes over the helm from former Aer Lingus boss Christoph Mueller, who earlier this year announced his intention to leave Malaysia Airlines after just over a year in the job.
It's been rumoured that Mr Mueller will take up a senior post with Emirates.
Mr Mueller leaves Malaysia Airlines today and will be on gardening leave until September.
Mr Bellew joined Malaysia Airlines around the same time as Mr Mueller and the pair have spearheaded a huge transformation of the troubled carrier.
Mr Bellew is a former director of flight operations at Ryanair.
The airline's chairman, Tan Sri Nor Md Yusof, said that Mr Bellew has been a "key figure" in the carrier's transformation over the past 10 months.
