Two dead after explosion and blaze

An explosion and fire in Indianapolis has killed two people and damaged more than a dozen homes in the Indianapolis, United States.

Two bodies were found following the blaze in the Richmond Hill area, Indianapolis Fire Department said in a statement.

Firefighters have been going through burned and damaged homes one by one after putting out the fire that started after the explosion at about 11pm on Saturday local time.

The department also says four people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The victims' names have not yet been released.
