The Red Cross says that it can't cope with the worsening civil war in Syria.
Peter Maurer, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross says that despite an increase in the scope of the organisation's operations "we can't cope with a worsening of the situation".
The civil war in Syria has killed more than 36,000 people since an uprising against the Syrian regime began in March 2011
Mr Maurer said in Geneva today "there is no doubt that the seriousness of the crisis is deepening every day. This trend has been uninterrupted since summer".
He also said there has been no "major progress" on gaining better access to prisoners.
