Hungary's Budapest Airport has been shut down due to electrical problems in the control tower.

Flights to Budapest were being diverted to Vienna, Bratislava, Slovakia, and other airports until the problem could be resolved, airport spokesman Mihaly Hardy said. The airport was shut at 10.50am UK time.

Mr Hardy said operations at Ferenc Liszt International Airport are expected to resume mid-morning on Saturday.
