Dozens injured as trains collide

Emergency workers at the scene of the collision between two passenger trains near Pretoria (AP)

Two South African commuter trains have crashed into one another, leaving a train driver critically injured and 20 people with serious injuries.

Another 150 passengers had minor injuries from the morning crash, said Emergency services spokesman Johan Pieterse.

Passenger Rail Agency chief executive Mosenngwa Mofi said the cause of the accident wasn't known, but that cables were stolen early today, which shut down an automatic signal.
