At least 23 killed as monsoon rains arrive in India
At least 23 people have been killed by flooding as annual monsoon rains begin to sweep across India.
The rains have come around two weeks earlier than normal this year due to an unusual weather system in the Bay of Bengal.
The monsoons claim hundreds of lives every year and often force millions of people to evacuate their homes.
However, they are also the lifeblood of India's agriculture industry, whieh provides a livelihood for more than 60% of the country's population.
