Giovanni Trapattoni has said he does not think last night's defeat to Australia will adversely affect the Republic of Ireland's preparations for their upcoming showdown with Cyprus.
Everton midfielder Tim Cahill scored twice in the first half last night as the Boys in Green played their first-ever game at Limerick's Thomond Park.
The Australians then made it 3-0 in injury time when Sheffield United's David Carney fired home a 30-yard drive.
The result was only the second defeat suffered by Ireland since Trapattoni took over as manager.
He says he and the players were disappointed with last night's outcome, but still have 20 more days to prepare for the World Cup qualifier against Cyprus.
