Sell-out crowd expected for opening of Rally Ireland

Thursday November 15 2007

A sell-out crowd of spectators is expected to descend on Stormont today for the opening stage of the long-awaited Rally Ireland.

The penultimate phase of this year's World Rally Championship is taking place on both sides of the border between today and Sunday.

The action gets underway this evening with a Super Special Stage around Stormont Castle and the North's parliament buildings.

The organisers say they expect around 150,000 people to attend the rally over the next few days.
