Meath out despite victory

Meath have exited the O'Byrne Cup

Meath crashed out of the O'Byrne Cup despite their 1-13 to 0-15 win over UCD at Pairc Tailteann.

Damien Carroll came off the bench to fire in a winning goal in the 41st minute.

Laois attacker Donie Kingston led the way for the students, hitting six points, but five from Brian Farrell swung the tie in the Royals' favour.

However, three points from their three group fixtures fell short of what Meath needed to progress to the last four, and it's Louth who progress to face Dublin.
