Austin Stack Park sale plans shelved
Tuesday December 15 2009
The Kerry county board's plans to sell Austin Stack Park to a developer and relocate to a state of the art complex at the old Ballybeggan Park Racecourse have been shelved.
"Unfortunately, the planned transfer from the present Austin Stack Park has been parked due to the economic circumstances that exist," county chairman Jerome Conway told delegates at the annual convention.
Meanwhile, a lucrative new sponsorship deal between the mobile phone company 3 Ireland and the Waterford County GAA Board has been agreed. The deal brings to an end a partnership between the county board and the dairy food giant Glanbia who have been the sponsors of the Waterford hurling teams for the past 12 years.
