Youths attempt to throw cat on Dublin bonfire
Friday October 23 2009
A tabby cat is recovering today after he was rescued just as he was about to be flung onto a bonfire in West Dublin last night.
Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is nursing the cat today.
The group say a brave citizen saw two youths aged between 12 and 14 at a bonfire and noticed they had a cat in their arms and were trying to throw him on the fire.
The citizen interceded, rescued the cat and brought him to a nearby vet where it was treated for suspected smoke inhalation.
The tabby cat is said to be recovering well from his ordeal.
