Taoiseach 'sought to limit tribunal's bank account probe'
Thursday September 13 2007
The Mahon Tribunal has heard that the Taoiseach only wanted his bank details investigated at a time when his accounts were dormant.
The inquiry heard this morning that Bertie Ahern's legal team had requested that the tribunal only investigate his bank details between January 1989 and December 1992.
At this time, Mr Ahern's bank account was inactive following his marriage separation.
The tribunal wrote back and extended the investigation period to December 1995.
