SIPTU: Central Mental Hospital to stop taking new patients

SIPTU is claiming that the Central Mental Hospital in Dublin is to cease admitting new patients from June 15th because of staffing shortages.

The union says it was informed of the decision by letter today.

The move is being blamed on the HSE's recruitment moratorium.

SIPTU says it is fearful of the serious situations which could result from this decision.
