Opinion poll shows huge rise in anti-Lisbon sentiment
The latest opinion poll ahead of next week's Lisbon Treaty referendum has shown a dramatic drop in support for the 'yes' camp.
The TNS/MRBI poll in this morning's Irish Times puts support for the treaty down five points to 30%.
The 'no' camp, meanwhile, has seen its support rise 17 points to 35%.
The result will be a major concern for the Government, which has been pushing strongly for a 'yes' vote.
The Alliance for Europe has described the poll as a wake-up call and says supporters of the treaty will have to intensify their campaign in the coming days.
Sinn Fein, meanwhile, says it shows that voters are prepared to hold out for a better deal.
