A man has shot himself dead at a hairdresser's salon in Co Tyrone.

Police are investigating but do not believe a crime was committed.

The incident happened shortly after 4pm on Friday at Carland Road, Dungannon.

A Northern Ireland Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We did not take anybody away from the scene."

Sinn Fein MLA Francie Molloy confirmed the man was dead.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesman said: "Police can confirm that a male aged in his 20a has died following a shooting incident at commercial premises in the Carland Road area of Dungannon.

"Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident but are not looking for anyone else in connection to this death."
