A man was shot in the leg in west Belfast, it has been revealed.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following the attack in an alleyway off Gibson Street in Lenadoon on Thursday night.

At approximately 9.30pm he was walking along Lenadoon Avenue when a saloon car carrying four men approached him. He was placed in the vehicle and taken to the alleyway then taken from the car and shot.

Detectives appealed for anybody with information to contact them.
