Govt to open two non-denominational primary schools

Thursday December 13 2007

The Department of Education is to open two new non-denominational primary schools in Dublin next September.

The schools, in the Phoenix Park and Phibblestown, will be the first of their kind in the country and will be under the patronage of the County Dublin VEC.

They will cater for children of every religion and will also provide a general ethics programme for kids whose parents wish them to opt out of religious education.
