Elderly man dies in Dublin road accident

A 74-year-old man is dead following a road accident in Dublin.

The man lost his life when the bicycle he was cycling collided with a lorry in Clontarf this afternoon.

The crash happened at the junction between Cherrymount Road and the Malahide Road at around 3.15pm.

The man was removed to Beaumont Hospital where he was pronounced dead just before 4pm.

No one else was injured in the collision.

Gardaí at Clontarf were this evening investigating the incident.
