Motorists in Dublin are being urged to make themselves familiar with a new plan to re-route traffic away from a major bus corridor in the city centre during peak times.

The plan will see all cars diverted away from the College Green area for six hours each day between Monday and Friday.

It takes affect from next week.

Dublin Bus says the move will ease delays of up to 40 minutes on some of its major routes.

Gardai say they will initially show some discretion, but failure to obey the new bus corridor will eventually attract an automatic €60 fine.
