Consumer groups are welcoming plans by the Minister for Enterprise to stop British companies from overcharging Irish customers.
It emerged this week that British retail stores operating here are over-charging customers by as much as 30 percent.
That is despite the weakness of sterling, which should make most items cheaper.
In a statement this afternoon, Tanaiste Mary Coughlan vowed to increase the number of price surveys, and provide greater information to customers.
