NI recession to last longer than rest of UK
Ulster Bank says the ongoing recession will last longer in the North than the rest of the UK.
In its latest quarterly economic report, the bank claims the worst of the downturn is over, but major obstacles still lie ahead.
It says that, while the rate of job losses has eased, the biggest challenge will be recovering lost output.
Ulster Bank is predicting that the North's economy will grow by around 1% next year, compared to 1.4% for the UK as a whole.
