Anglo Irish publication is a watershed - Lenihan
The Finance Minister has said the publication of Anglo Irish Bank's annual accounts marks a watershed between the old and the new Anglo.
The report revealed that Anglo loaned a total of ?451m to ten of its long standing customers to buy shares in the bank last year.
Previous estimates had put the figure at ?300m.
It also revealed that the Bank's Directors paid themselves ?9.5m last year.
Brian Lenihan said he welcomes the opportunity to bring openness to the bank and to draw a line under the inappropriate activities that took place in the past.
He said if any wrongdoing is proven, those responsible will face the full rigours of the law.
