BoI customers double-charged for laser transactions
Wednesday September 09 2009
Bank of Ireland is investigating how 120,000 of its customers were double-charged for laser transactions over the weekend.
Staff at the bank have been working throughout the night to refund millions of euro to the accounts affected by the blunder.
A spokesperson has blamed a glitch in the system and has insisted that no customer will be left out of pocket.
The affected customers are believed to have been charged twice every time they used their laser card since last Friday.
