Man, 31, shot in leg in street

A 31-year-old man is recovering after being shot in the leg in Northern Ireland.

He was targeted as he walked on Linenhall Street in Ballymoney, Co Antrim, at about 10pm on Tuesday night.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening.

A suspected firearm was recovered from the area and taken away for forensic examination.

A spokeswoman for the PSNI has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
