Four held over witness intimidation

Detectives want information about the movements of the Belfast private taxi believed to have driven from the city to Coalisland

Police investigating the intimidation of a court witness have arrested four men in Co Tyrone.

Three men forced their way into a house in the Moor Road area of Coalisland on Tuesday night and threatened a man, aged 35. They ran off when he challenged them and he was not injured. The man's wife and young children were in the house.

Detectives are appealing for information about the movements of a Belfast private taxi believed to have driven from the city to Coalisland. A PSNI spokeswoman said the silver Volvo had an Eagle taxi sign on its roof.

Four men aged 29, 31, 42 and 45 were arrested by police in Coalisland early on Wednesday morning and are being questioned at Antrim police station.

A PSNI spokeswoman thanked the community in Coalisland for their co-operation.
