A cash delivery driver has been robbed at knifepoint in Belfast

A cash delivery driver has been robbed at knifepoint in Belfast.

Police said a man wearing a grey hooded top and high visibility jacket threatened the van driver and made off with a cash box containing an undisclosed sum.

The incident happened at the Ladybrook Park area of west Belfast.

Police are currently at the scene.

The robber fled in a red Volvo which was found close to the Kennedy Centre in Andersonstown. A silver Ford C-Max was also recovered by detectives investigating the armed robbery.

A spokeswoman for the PSNI appealed for witnesses to come forward.
