Heroin with a street value of €900,000 has been seized by gardai this evening.

The seizure was part of an ongoing intelligence-led operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs by an organised crime gang based in the Ballyfermot/Clondalkin area of Dublin.

This afternoon, two men, aged 33 and 46, were arrested by gardai from the National Drugs Unit, Organised Crime Unit and local drugs unit based in Clondalkin.

During the operating, some six kilos of heroin, with a street value of up to €900,000, was seized.

Both men remain in custody at Clondalkin Garda Station, and both can be held for up to seven days.
