Meanwhile, the Department has been keen to explain its strategies with a series of graphics showing, for example, that 41pc of tax is paid by the top 5pc of earners. Other nuggets from the PR blitz include the claim that there is more than €500m worth of pro-jobs measures in this year’s Budget and that more than 34,000 jobs have already been created.
